About Jacqui

Jacqui has a Masters Degree in Educational and Developmental Psychology (Monash University) with an undergraduate degree in psychology and psychophysiology. She has been a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) since 2002, and has 20+ years’ experience as a psychologist. She is also a member of the Australian Association for Psychologists Inc.
Jacqui’s academic training and range of professional experience in private practice, a range of education settings (including private schools, mainstream and specialist, regional and city schools, including DET’s Emergency Management Team), crisis telephone counselling, medical settings (hospitals) and early intervention community services (e.g., Krongold Centre), is enhanced by lived and personal experience.
Jacqui has over 10 years experience in private practice in a multidisciplinary team where the primary focus was on diagnosis, early intervention, parent support and education, therapy, and skill building with neurodivergent individuals and their families.
Jacqui values creativity, play and education and is dedicated to expanding her professional skill set to support her clients and her own personal growth.
She has created and illustrated a children’s book called A Skulk of Foxes and Other Collective nouns, by Andy Duncan and Jacqui Thomas (Griffiths), 2011, Borghesi & Adam Publishers Pty Limited, and she co-published the scientific paper titled The influence of significant others on disordered eating and body dissatisfaction among early adolescent girls, by Jacqueline Griffiths and Maritia McCabe, August 2000, European Eating Disorders Review.
Outside of psychology, Jacqui qualified as a Group Fitness instructor and for the last 10+ years has enjoyed supporting people’s fitness and mental health through dance and movement.
